Zograf Strings Quarterly is excited to announce the 2nd edition of our "Side by Side" Chamber Music Performance Program. This is an audition-based program offering a select school-grade music student the opportunity to gain invaluable rehearsal and performance experience alongside seasoned professional musicians in a real concert environment. The selected student will join Zograf Strings Quarterly for rehearsals and performance of a TBD chamber music piece at one of our chamber music concerts, and will receive direct instruction and professional insights from ZSQ members for the duration of the program.

Deadline to apply: Thursday May 7, 2026 (Extended deadline upon request via email: Sunday, May 10th)

Applicant notifications: By Sunday, May 10, 2026, end of day.

Program Date: June 12-14 , exact times TBD.

All levels violin, viola, and cello applicants are requested to video record as many of the following music samples as they are able to play well, but no less than one scale, one solo piece, and one excerpt of choice that represents their level of playing best:

        -Two scales of applicant’s choice, 

        -A solo of their choice that best represents their current technical and lyrical playing abilities, 2-3 minutes total.

         -An excerpt from Mendelssohn's String Quartet in E minor, 1st movement, mm 18 to first ending, and/or

​       --Mozart String Quartet No. 4 in C, K. 157, 1st movement, beginning to first repeat, and/or

         -Traditional Danish-Minuet 60, beginning to D as marked.
